Abstract:
Pilot Information Manual (PIM) sheets describing BAS deep field depots in Antarctica for use by the by the BAS
Field Operations team and BAS Air Unit.
This record always reflects the latest versions of PIM sheets based on information held in the BAS Operations
Data Store.
PIM sheets are PDF files intended for printing consisting of:
* location
* layout sketch and photos
* operational and safety information
PDFs are 139.7 x 215.9 mm in size to fit within Jeppesen flight binders. They can be printed on either
Jeppesen multi-purpose paper or regular A5 paper.
Outputs are restricted to selected BAS operational teams. Authorised users should login with their BAS LDAP
(South) account.
Data and associated workflows are managed and maintained by the [Mapping and Geographic Information
Centre](https://www.bas.ac.uk/teams/magic) (MAGIC) on behalf of the BAS Field Operations team.
Purpose:
Current Pilot Information Manual (PIM) sheets describing BAS deep field depots in Antarctica.

Statement:
PIM sheet data is compiled from a range of sources:
* BAS Operations Data Store depot dataset: name, identifier, location, hazards, fuel counts, date of last
visit
* BAS Field Operations SharePoint: depot sketches and photos
Depot dataset attributes are updated as required through QGIS by Field Operations Managers or by MAGIC on
their behalf.
Depot sketches and photos are maintained by Field Operations Managers and/or Field Guides.
Data outputs are generated using an automated data pipeline developed by the [Mapping and Geographic
Information Centre](https://www.bas.ac.uk/teams/magic) (MAGIC) on a regular frequency using the data
sources above.
