Abstract:
Radio-echo sounding (RES) data was collected between 4 and 11 December 2012, using the British Antarctic Survey Deep-Look Radio-Echo Sounder (DELORES). From this dataset a digital elevation model (DEM) for Starbuck Glacier was created. The data consists of grids relating to ice-thickness and bedrock elevation for the glacier as well as the RES data.

| Data Storage: | This repository contains the following: (1) starbuck_surface_elevation.grid A digital elevation model (DEM) for Starbuck Glacier. The domain outside the glacier is marked with a "nodata_value". The DEM was extracted from the dataset by Cook et al. (2012). (2) starbuck_ice_thickness.grid The estimated ice thickness distribution of Starbuck Glacier. The estimate refers to the year 2011. (3) starbuck_ice_thickness_uncertainty.grid The estimated uncertainty of the ice thickness distribution. (4) starbuck_bedrock_elevation.grid The estimated bedrock elevation, obtained by subtracting (2) from (3). (5) starbuck_RES_data_including_MCoRDS.txt A file containing the individual measured ice thickness. See file header for further details. (6) esri_grid_info.pdf A short explanation for the "ESRI grid" format, used for the ".grid"-files. |
