Abstract:
Persistent organic pollutant concentrations in artificial sea ice experiments at the Roland von Glasow Air-Sea-Ice Chamber (RvG-ASIC) at the University of East Anglia, UK. Experiments involved investigating chemical contaminant behaviours during sea ice formation and melt in order to assess possible exposure risk to sea ice biota.

Quality: | Mass-labelled chemical standards were used as recovery standards to assess analytical performance. A 10-point mixed-standard calibration curve was used for quantification Sample replicates (n = 3) were used to determine method performance. Method detection limits (MDL) were calculated from quality control blanks. |

Lineage: | Experiments were conducted in the Roland von Glasow Air-Sea-Ice Chamber (RvG-ASIC) at the University of East Anglia, UK. Samples of sea ice were collected, and contaminant concentrations were measured. |

Data Storage: | Number of files: 5 Format of files: .csv, .txt Concentrations - displays the measured concentrations of contaminants in each of the experimental samples. Volumes - displays the measured volume of (melt)water from each sample collected during the experiment. Modelled data (Freeze 1) - displays the modelled concentrations (+/- 2.s.d) of contaminants in sea ice based on initial seawater concentrations. Modelled data (Freeze 2) - displays the modelled concentrations (+/- 2.s.d) of contaminants in sea ice based on initial seawater concentrations. Experimental setup - displays the concentrations of contaminants in the spike-solution and experimental conditions for the experiments. |
