Abstract:
This dataset consists of water pressure, temperature and electrical conductivity measurements from three moulins (near-vertical shafts formed through hydrological processes) and a supraglacial pond on Isunnguata Sermia, a glacier in southwest Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) in 2024-2025. Wireless Cryoeggs and a wired Geokon pressure sensor were deployed into a series of local moulins above a network of suspected subglacial lakes beneath Isunnguata Sermia, southwest Greenland (Kalaallit Nunaat) in July 2024 as part of the 'Subglacial Lakes under Isunnguata Sermia: Dynamics and Evolution (SLIDE)' project. The sensors reported water pressure measurements from the moulin water column, and the Cryoeggs also reported electrical conductivity and temperature. Data were recorded by a Campbell Scientific CR1000 logger (Geokon) or a bespoke Cryoegg receiver deployed on the ice surface.

| Quality: | Processing: Raw conductivity data are given in volts and millivolts. These data have also been processed using a calibration curve to give values in microsiemen per centimetre (uScm-1). The calibration equation is: a = -1.6126e-01 b = -4.6132e-02 c = 3.5800e+00 ec_uScm = 10^(-b + -1*sqrt(b*b - 4*a*(c - log10(conductivity_raw_mV))))/2/a)) |

| Lineage/Methodology: | This dataset contains pressure measurements, temperature and electrical conductivity transmitted by several Cryoegg instruments (Bagshaw et al. 2018; Prior-Jones et al. 2021) deployed in moulins on Isunnguata Sermia, SW Greenland in 2024-2025. The data are from two separate dataloggers, installed at two locations on Isunnguata Sermia. Their locations as of August 2025 were: Datalogger CR_01 at location G: 67.178869N, 050.152035W Datalogger CR_02 at location BFM: 67.175057N, 050.149222W The Cryoeggs were deployed by dropping them into a moulin, where they descended via free- fall until becoming lodged or entering the moulin water column. 6 cryoegg instruments were deployed during the 2024 and 2025 summer field seasons. The instruments transmit data packets every 30 minutes during long-term deployment (higher frequency data are recorded during the first few hours of each deployment for calibration and troubleshooting purposes). The Geokon pressure sensor was a 4500SH vibrating wire piezometer rated to 5 MPa attached to 400 m of cable with an integral high-tensile steel core, and was deployed into the moulin BFM. The sensor was lowered until the cable went slack, then fastened at this point leaving 300 m cable between sensor and ice surface. Data were reported to a Campbell Scientific CR1000 datalogger installed adjacent to the moulin. |

| Data Storage: | There are ten Cryoegg CSV files, each containing all transmissions from a single Cryoegg during the monitoring period. Each file contains data from a single instrument, and is named with the ID number of that instrument. The instruments were deployed in the following locations: ce240001: in a supraglacial pond, located at 67.178576N 050.148448W at time of deployment ce240014: in an unnamed moulin next to the supraglacial pond, located at 67.178498N, 050.149328W at time of deployment ce240018 and cf240020: Deployed in Moulin X/BFM, next to the surface receiver CR_02 at location BFM ce240019: Deployed in Moulin Y, next to the surface receiver at location G. There is one Geokon CSV file, containing all pressure data recorded by the CR1000 logger. Raw values are unitless, and all averages are taken from 30-second interval measurements over the 15 minute window prior to the recorded time. |
