Daily modelled surface melt of Isunguata Sermia, West Greenland from 2022 to 2024

GB/NERC/BAS/PDC/02192

Summary

Abstract:
This dataset includes modelled surface melt, and runoff estimates for Isunguata Sermia, a land-terminating outlet glacier in West Greenland, from August 2022 to September 2024. We use the Coupled snowpack and ice surface energy and mass balance model in python (COSIPY; Sauter et al., 2020) forced by extrapolated observations from the PROMICE KAN_L automatic weather station (Fausto et al., 2021) and modelled precipitation from the ECMWF Reanalysis v5-Land (ERA5-Land; Munoz-Sabater et al., 2021). Air temperature from KAN_L are extrapolated using a constant lapse rate to obtain spatially distributed daily modelled surface melt over the tongue of Isunguata Sermia.

This research was funded by NERC standard grant NE/X000257/1.
