Abstract:
This dataset contains the partner ringing details and reproductive outcome of black-browed albatrosses (Thalassarche melanophris) included in tracking studies during the breeding season on Bird Island, South Georgia from 1997 to 2023. The file is stored in .csv format.
This work was funded as part of the Bird Island Long-term Monitoring Programme at BAS.

| Quality: | Only breeding birds that were tracked with satellite transmitters, GLS, or GPS loggers are included in the dataset. Missing values (NA) indicate cases where the identifying ring of the breeding partner could not be successfully read because the bird could not be captured, closely observed, or positively identified in the field. |

| Lineage/Methodology: | Monitoring was carried out at sub-colonies H and J annually, with visits at least weekly during the breeding season to mark all nests, identify breeding adults, and record nest failures. The reproductive success of each pair was recorded as successful (chick survived to fledging age), failed at egg, failed at chick, or failed at unknown stage.
